Follow-up Comment #19, bug #65548 (group octave):
I tried the procedure in italics at the bottom of bug #31080 (comment #81).
Until now, I could not reproduce the bug with a recent nightly build.
And I could reproduce the bug with version 9.3.0. But without many trials...
So I would say the situation is promising...
