xnview.com does not list OpenEXR or EXR as one of the supported formats.
No idea why it's not on the main page, but it is supported for read only, not write: http://perso.orange.fr/charries/xnv/extensions.html I thought I saw a post from you on the xnview forum in the fall about gamma issues with exr. Maybe not. -deke
