LOL!  I had to adjust my mail reader (kmail) to use PAN's shortcuts,
f=followup, because I was forever hitting f instead of r to reply, and
getting a "forward" instead.  So... I know exactly what you are going thru!

OTOH, back immediately after PAN switched to gtk+2, back with PAN 0.12,
user adjustable accels didn't work.  I was ready to dump PAN just because
of that!  Then we learned the trick of putting the string in the config
file to allow the changes, but PAN still wouldn't save them, until
sometime later.  The first thing I'd do upon starting PAN was fix the
keyboard accels!
