I've just subscribed to this mailing list and can't reply to the 0.108 thread,
therefore I'm starting a new thread on the win32 topic.
Since 0.14.2.90+, I've been able to build win32 versions of pan, but only
since 0.9x have they been really usable. Recently I tried to improve few things:
- cross-compilation to win32
- binary decoration (icon, ...)
Except for gmime, I believe building pan is getting easier, and I welcome
Darren Albers as the de facto packager. He may want to take a pick at [1] and
package, maybe, a "0.108-2" version with those additions, if Charles Kerr
doesn't mind an unofficial version bump.
I'm willing to follow problems on the win32 front. Currently I'm trying to
update the installer script to NSIS so that:
- a nicer installer is provided
- the installer could be built under linux, as nsis is for instance a debian
package
Gaim is a valuable source of inspiration on this matter.
I'm also trying to get gtkspell support. It links and runs fine, except for
the fact gtkspell doesn't seem to activate itself. Maybe a problem setting up
the underlying aspell files.
Best regards,
