[Pan-users] <searching|reading> saved articles?

Both the Pan FAQ and the "Save-Articles help screen" give instructions on saving downloaded postings to a personally-selected "home-directory-location".  Is there any routine that would enable Pan to access this location in order to <view|search> the files that have stored there? 

 I note that the format of the "saved postings" directory appears to be identical with the format of files stored in Pan's "article-cache" directory and that the article-cache-files are easily accessed by Pan.
