For anyone reading this as a follow up, getting php to use mssql (as
well as the other extentions) is covered in great detail in the
install.txt file that comes with the win32 php zip file. There are
paths to set and files to copy around, and the reboot to get the paths
set in all contexts is important when using IIS, thank billy for that
little anoyance.
For anyone installing php on win32, it is very strongly recomended to
read the entire install.txt file. As long and boring as it is, it
provides all the clues needed for a nicely working setup.
