aqui acho que temos dois pontos. aquele meu sed fiz na hora, sem
otimizar, de repente otimizando aquela regex poderiamos ganhar
alguns decimos :)
segundo, para este tipo de tarefa, nao sei se o awk nao seria
mais indicado e otimizado. ?!?

sim, usei o time builtin do bash.
$ help time
Execute PIPELINE and print a summary of the real time, user CPU time,
and system CPU time spent executing PIPELINE when it terminates.
