Does the openstep option alter the runtime or just the GUI?

It seems to me that the runtime should be chosen automagically onthe basis of the host.

Does the current code always use the host/gcc runtime. Can we ditch the old Swarm modified runtime?

They are mutually exclusive right now, --enable-openstep means you want to use the OpenStep GUI instead of tcl/tk. I've tried doing some work so that we can compile both, but I've not had success yet.

Using tcl/tk GUI but with the Apple objc runtime instead of the GNU runtime is an interesting possibility, but I've not tried anything.
