if I were allowed to vote, I would say a very, very loud NO to Python. 
I've only had the worst experiences with him and I'm not alone. I use 
Python scripts to verify country files for CQRlog and with every system 
update I have to configure Python, env, etc. again and again. Porting to 
systems with architecture other than Intel is quite problematic. 
Overall, this would result in a cat-dog that would only work in the 
hands of an experienced programmer, and they are usually not top 
contestants or operators - they tend to have other interests. So with 
all due respect, NO PYTHON!!!!
