It could indeed be handy to have curves for both track and audio clip, mainly 
because they would have different applications. The curve of the audio clip 
would move with the clip and could be used to fix certain things in the clip 
(e.g. tame wrong notes, coughs, audience noise etc.), whereas the curve of 
the track could be used for things like voice over stuff, which depends on 
the position in the timeline rather than on the position in a clip.

IMO it is important that the curve shows what's really happening. So if 
interpolation follows a spline, the curve should be painted as a spline, too.
