Hi Chris,

Honestly, I'm not sure (and I'm not a lawyer). The MIT license is
obviously OK, but it is up to you to decide whether that gives you
enough credit. Perhaps GPL, but then with an exception to clarify that
you claim no rights for songs rendered with your soundfont.

There was some discussion about it here, but it doesn't seem like they
got anywhere:
