Without is probably better. We only need one copy of the latest release
for each platform. If you wish to make the SSL binaries available I can
add links to them in .ca (have two separate schemes for distribution of
binaries).

:/usr/local? --- I HATE that.
It's supposed to go in /usr/local/lib, but you can redefine that. Of
course any binary distribution will also have to incorporate a
distribution of the help files and the other docs.
