Where are 'all the others' cached?

I am sitting and looking and I see nothing being cached in terms of
files.  Are the 'others' you have in mind cached in memory then?  The
only thing similar to 'caching' of which I was aware is the in memory
data structures parsed from the current HTML file and the files being
edited in answering news or sending emails.
