I agree we need to take pains to get the word out.  In a draft 
lynx home page at

I obliterated the inside title (H1 element) to make room for the
following alert:

   Warning: ALL subscriptions to lynx-dev will expire
   at 11:30 CDT (16:30 GMT) on Monday, May 4.   Please mark your
   calendars to [1] re-subscribe after that time.
   
any comments before we put that up at lynx.browser.org?
