hmm - this has not been a good day (this is the first time I got on to check
my email where it didn't hang -- and somehow I've lost your earlier message
from incoming though I have the list in my outgoing ;-).

-- but I think I was mistaken (I noted the ones about gid and blanks, remembered
those, and overlooked some recent changes  that moved StrnAllocCat to different
