I submitted an updated ebuild a while ago in
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309577 but the Gentoo dev who
normally does mtn updates seems to be MIA. :(

(But installing it into /usr/local/portage works fine, that's what
I've been doing on my machines)
