if you want to continue the discussion ...
i like my idea, you like yours, "hell is other people", so what..
i think that the problems on the original barrett's concept were
already exposed, your solution add more variables per unit-class,
and i dont like that, it adds the the mad-unit-designer problem.

i think its just that, if its not using ...

...
