In regards to the 0 byte file. Just so happens that I was doing some
testing when I saw these messages come through.
I was doing a telnet to port 25 and manually doing the mail from and rcpt
to. Then I would give the word test as the message and send it on. Boy
did the milter go crazy. All kinds of polling messages were generated to
mail.err and it would instantly put a load on the box. spamass-milter
would split processing with syslog-ng with each taking like 48%.
29230 root 4 30 0 2144K 1528K run 0:54 48.62% syslog-ng
29337 root 4 30 0 2784K 1720K run 0:39 47.74% spamass-milter
Just my 2 cents :)
