Ok, the main things that I will need to work on seemingly is the
packaging.  But installing from CVS should basically work, so it would
be good if people tested the current state.

font-lock performance still is rather bad.  If you have sources
installed on your system, locate, for example, longtable.dtx and page
through it while font-locking is on with page down, default settings.

Slow as molasses.  We really have to get our defaults into a state
where they are workable.  I don't get to see much of the font locking
since I have it disabled, anyway, but I am not typical and it worries
me.
