Given the uncertainty in when the new elpa will be ready, it would not
hurt to convert to git and host that on savannah. It will be just as
easy to import that into elpa.git as it would to convert directly to
elpa.git from cvs.
Dirk: you probably aready know, but just in case, one can
rsync(1) the full cvs repo from:
rsync://vcs.sv.gnu.org/sources/auctex/
the conversions work better when using a local copy.
