Details:

Doc says:
avrisp2 Atmel AVR ISP mkII in ISP mode, in PDI mode for ATxmega devices,
...

When I give the following command line:
     avrdude -C.../avrdude.conf -v -v -v -v -patxmega128a1 -cavrisp2
    -Pusb -Uflash:w:.../SfeTest.cpp.hex:i
I get the output:
avrdude: usbdev_open(): Found AVRISP mkII, serno: 0000B0041148
avrdude: usbdev_open(): error setting configuration 1:
        usb_set_configuration(SetConfiguration): device not opened for
exclusive access
avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"
