[Bug-AUCTeX] 11.81; AUCTeX fails completely

Hello!

While trying to prepare a LaTeX file with nice umlauts that appear too 
in the *output* buffer, I get one with this contents and no useful 
output files:

I have no _region_ files! My source is AUC.tex.
