Well I've just rerun the test and I've got a
home/yvon/a-installer/automake-1.8.4/tests/testSubDir/txinfo3-1.0/_build/
which contains a Makefile, a config.log and a config.status.
I've grasped the eructations of the test and I join the bit about texinfo.
It refers to a txiversion.log which is nowhere to be found!
