You are absolutely right, that no new features should be integrated before
1.0 is released. BUT we discuss the release about version 1.0 since Dec
2000:

In Dec 2000 Okuji said: "Although I said that I wanted to release 1.0 in
this year..."

and even in Jan 2003 we discussed graphics support in GRUB and you told:

"I'm afraid that you are misunderstanding something. I also have
already said that I would add graphics support into GRUB after 1.0. "

Many people are sending good patches and you are not willing to include
them, because we are in feature freeze since more than a year.

So, please release grub version 1.0 so that new things could be developed
and applied (either in grub2 or pupa). That would make many people happy
and you could concentrate on grub2/pupa.

Don't get me wrong.
