Note that GRUB is the standard Multiboot boot loader, so it is the most
important to support all the features of Multiboot. GRUB has always been saying
that it supports *all* the features of Multiboot plus some other fancy
features. If anything defined in Multiboot is missing, that is a bug.

I'm quite afraid that you don't see Multiboot-compliance critical for GRUB.
That has been a general tendency in GRUB development these days. Probably
because most people only think  about Linux or don't know anything but Linux
and Windows.

My stance is very different even if I use GNU/Linux. I want to help people who
develop new operating systems. That takes precedence to support for existing
operating systems. I know my opinion is not good for ordinary users, but I
don't need to work for ordinary users anyway. (Oh, I'm proud of that GRUB is
not commercial software.)

Please understand at least this point: GRUB would be GRUB even if support for
Linux is omitted, while GRUB would not be GRUB if support for Multiboot
disappears.

The reason why I may compromise without finishing Multiboot issues is just that
the missing features are not necessary to  boot Multiboot-compliant OSes in
most cases (such as GNU/Hurd).
