You lost me here. I thought you found that ecrm1000 should not be
looked for at all?

I'd gladly fix the Cygwin tetex installation, but I want to be sure to
make the right fix and not add another bug.
Bertalan, what does Mats's command give you? Can you send a
(comressed) log file to the list?
