I think I can try, if I manage to convince Debian to pick a newer one
(the current gcc is 4.4.5).

The problem is that this machine is SLOW.  A full build from git,
assuming I have a chicken installed, takes ~2h (boot-chicken + install).

At the moment I'm building chicken with the master head (which contains
the record-instance? fix).
