Hi E'body,
I had mentioned in one of my earlier mails that the support
directory in pnet acts like an abstraction layer for the platform
functions. John Le'Brecage brought into my view a small point --
the SEE *is* already using a compatibility library. So why reinvent
the wheel ?.
/Me thinks this is a good idea. But the question here is will
Pnet's compat library be faster than Common C++. What about memory
footprint of SEE + PNET ?.
Another important point is what about SEE ?. It hasn't been worked
upon for a long long time.....
PS: We can still use Common C++'s code for reference for our "Portable C"
in pnet/support. Especially complicated stuff like Sockets ;)
