Exactly!!! It would allow for a gcc front end,
and a DOTGNU backed. 
This would eliminate the fear of linking of closed
source to the gcc, but allow linking of open source to
gcc.

Imagine the bootstrap, gcc via dotgnu into IL.
and then you have a IL version of gcc..

Scary!!!
