Well, just looking at the game it looks more like a severe semeai
confusion somewhere along the line. Some of the trouble could have
been avoided simply by not playing the empty triangle at F6. The F3/G4
exchange doesn't look great either.
In any case the fight was far from simple.

I can't say for sure without analyzing the game further, but it seems
unlikely that level 13 (instead of 12, I presume) should have made
matters any worse.
