Hi Everyone:
I've been working on a new 'About GnuMed' plugin. The second
version of it is now on CVS. It is still a work in progress.
--I'm trying to figure out a better way of scrolling the text;
I've noticed the trickery I using doesn't work forever and the
text stops scrolling after about 3-4 minutes. The idea of the
scrolling text is to give all the contributors glory... but
avoid a big list.
Take a look. :)
Let me know if you think there is something missing (aside from
the rest of the names...)
---
Are there suggestions for our motto/description?
"The Best in eMedicine for GPs" was in the first version
"Free eMedicine" is in the newer version (partial credit to Karsten here)
Other ideas... I've shortly discussed and/or just thought of now are:
'The Best in Free eMedicine'
'Never Sleeps'
'Never Sleeps & Never Forgets'
'Free eMedicine from the World'
If the lay-out has a resemblance to GIMP's About window...
it is of course purely coincidental. :D ;)
Functional issues aside... I'm thinking a nice picture
(like GIMP has) would be good... I was thinking something
like a stethoscope.
In the spirit of the python help pages, which states references
to Monty Python in the documentation are not only allowed--but
encouraged--I've dubbed the serpent 'Monty.'
You may notice that... the serpent on the About frame is a bit
different than the one on the main window... I'm still
experimenting a bit--I'll probably do another short series
of different serpents later.
Unless you're re-installing the db... to get the plugin to load you
have to add 'gmAbout' into the table 'cfg_str_array' and more
specifically into 'id_item' '5' & '7'.
Michael
