I thought there was a *.deb for that?

Hi!
I after listening a while to this list, i tried to install Gnumed:-)

address@hidden:~/gnumed$ ./check-prerequisites.sh
[....]
ERROR: mxDateTime is available from http://www.egenix.com/files/python/

So I downloaded egenix-mx-base-2.0.5.tar.gz and tried to install it.
And then I encoutered the error:
address@hidden:~/egenix-mx-base-2.0.5$ ./setup.py install
Traceback (most recent call last):
 File "./setup.py", line 9, in ?
   import mxBASE
 File "/home/didi/egenix-mx-base-2.0.5/mxBASE.py", line 10, in ?
   from distutils.core import Extension
ImportError: No module named distutils.core

Does anybody have experience with gnumed on a Debian Box (In fact it is a
Knoppix HD install)

Regards
-didi
