I bet that "postgres" is using C 'cause 'root' is UTF-8 and initdb does
not pass any locale parameter.

For now, I manually did re-initdb.

Hmm, another problem - right after the login dialog, gnumed (run via
gm-from-cvs.sh) crashes.

Trace log is in the attachment. I hope it will go through.
