Is it desirable -- or, more specifically, not a problem -- to have a variety of 
patients (and even the same patient internally) coded multiple times with a 
particular code, from a particular coding system, except that the same code 
will exist in multiple languages and where in each case the codes themselves 
(despite that  they mean the same thing) will resolve to *different* primary 
keys in (for example)

        ref.icd9

        clin.lnk_code2item_root

??
