Richard and Liz,

How are they used in AU?

More specifically,

- does the government prefer (or insist) to receive ICD-10 for example as a
condition of remuneration for government payment of AU Medicare claims or other
mandatory statistical reporting to government of praxis information?

- are the ICPC2+ codes used only within each doctor's own EMR for whatever
benefits that affords the GPs in terms of consistency of entry and being able
to search among patients (facilitating your doing some of your own praxis
review and quality assurance)?

--> or do your ICPC2+ codes ever appear in what you send out in a clinical
report, or in a referral to a specialist (or even to government) ?
