As far as I know, those encounters remain 'empty' until some kind of associated entry ?(like a soap row) gets created. Is it maybe worth providing some visual indication of this, perhaps
(while still empty) the encounter type can be in parens
e.g.
(chart review) – 2011-11-17 10:15
but after it can no longer be considered empty, the parens disappear:
chart review – 2011-11-17 10:15
??
