The problem is not one you are building one package, but when you are 
building a lot of them in an automated update.  Doing things 5x faster
adds up when you are rebuilding 500 packages.

Even more important, my package builder is set up to do -j3 by default.
Mostly so that Chromium does not take 24 hours.  When I have to change a
system default to compile one package I get cranky.
