cfenvd and histograms?

We are playing a little with cfenvd (latest snapshot on Linux RHEL3)
and are trying to figure out what the "--histograms" option does.

When starting "cfenvd -H" it complains that /var/cfengine/state/histograms
doesn't exist, so we've created it by hand with the right permissions.

After running cfenvd for a day the file is still empty and we don't see
any "Unable to save histograms" messages in syslog either.
