All,
Thanks ever so much for finding the time to try to solve this one w/ me.
Just to reassure you all --I had read the on-line manual and tutorial first
before posting!
Very sorry if I sounded like I was moaning --it wasn't intentional and maybe
my frustration got the better of me. Emacs seems extremely powerful and
some good features --all the more reason I was surprised at not being able
to do the indent thing. I couldn't help thinking I was overlooking
something simple and in the end I started to suspect people use something
else to write code and use emacs for other tasks --perhaps I should have
used less emotive words! I obviously need to find some time to learn how to
configure the .emacs file, so will dissappear for a while now [hoorah...!].
I have received lots of suggestions (excellent, thanks) to make this
behaviour global, which I'll work through.
The transition from Win-->Linux is going to be tough for me, but I sincerely
believe it will be aided by the willing community you represent --thanks
again,
Mark
