I do ALL my business email, dozens of messages per day, in
Gnus.
I don't send HTML email but Gnus reads it with just a small
amount of setup (one line, if memory serves).
When Gnus is set up to work along with BBDB, it opens up
enormous possibilities of customizations very useful to the
business world.
I won't minimize the amount of time that has gone into setting
up Gnus to work as I wish. I started out with Gnus about 15
years ago when a then-colleague suggested it to me when I was
using viewmail (VM) instead. Gnus of course is not perfect;
nothing is. But I have yet to find a single relevant task[1]
that Gnus cannot do. Whenever I think, "I'd like to do X with
email" Gnus always comes through either natively or with some
elisp coding.
To get Gnus to where you want it, you do have to walk down
something of a long-ish road, but the payoff is huge.

[1] Let's stick to relevant tasks. Gnus cannot do my laundry,
although that would be a great addition.
