If you run a very small site that will work, but if you run
a large site you'll run out of mysql threads _very_ quickly.
 Let's say one of your users does a 'find' on / or you are
doing many name-instensive operations it will hammer mysql
and then you are hosed ... :-)

Of course turning off nscd stinks but it works.

Hi,

Some people work around the problem by setting the MySQL
timeout to five minutes. Nscd seems to work with that setting.
