Follow-up Comment #14, bug #65392 (group octave):

Managed to take a look earlier than I expected.

I'm using Ubuntu 23.10 which distributes SUNDIALS 6.4.

Does configuring with SUNDIALS 5 work with the attached alternative patch? (I
haven't tested it extensively with SUNDIALS 6 or 7 yet. But at least, the
configuration results looked reasonable to me in either version.)
