By "break" I meant air-quoted "break".  

Its just that in v5.2, calling 'str2func("@nofunc")' where "nofunc" is
non-existent returned an error, while in v7, it no longer is the case.  The
resulting function will fail, of course, but 'str2func' will not.

I assume it is deliberate, but the change affected the behavior of *my*
function.
