Follow-up Comment #20, patch #8919 (project octave):

"I'm no longer sure it is good practice to export the same symbols from
multiple libraries."

How would that happen?  We shouldn't have the same symbol defined in two
different libraries.  Currently, we really just have two libraries that export
symbols, liboctave and liboctinterp and the sets of symbols they define should
not overlap.
