        Here's one:  Go into the rules setup (Edit -> Rules), and make a new 
rule called "Synchronize".  You'll see options about which ones it 
applies to; use them to set it to act on the ones you like.  Now, make 
a new filter called "Auto-Download" -- or "Fred" if you like, whatever 
makes sense to you :) -- and note that by default on a new filter, ALL 
articles will match it.  Go to the Filters tab and select your 
Auto-Download filter.  Go to Actions and note that one action is 
"Retrieve Body".  Check "Apply to Incoming" up there by the rule name, 
and it should be activated any time you refresh headers.
        Be warned that this doesn't work in 0.11.3 if you have renamed the 
newsgroup you try to select, thus the filter applies to *no* groups and 
isn't very useful.  :-p
