On reviewing my original reply to your question I see 'we avoid html'
could be interpreted as a kindergarten teacher reprimanding a child
but I didn't intend it that way. I was in a hurry and left out some
significant details.
By 'we' I meant this particular maillist/newsgroup because pan doesn't
'do' html. From what Duncan has said here many times, I gather that's
because Charles quite deliberately designed pan that way. I've taken
to mentioning html in my replies here to save Duncan some typing ;-)
