For some time now, when viewing the newsgroup
alt.binaries.pictures.wallpaper and clicking on a header, I get a
message just like this:

Attachment not shown: MIME type image/jpeg; filename Scenic Waterfall,
Iceland.jpg

(of course, the actual file name is different each time)

I put the code in that displays this message when an attachment can't be
shown. Usually this is because it's not an image. In this case there
should be a message in the error log indicating why GTK was unable to
render the image.

Using the pan from ubuntu I see "Unrecognized image format" for any jpeg
with more than one part, completely reproducible. As I said earlier, I
do *not* see this problem with pan from your git repository, so I'm
assuming that the ubuntu devs haven't yet picked up all your patches.

Happy New Year!
