So I posted these various debug logs requested.  If unclear why I put on a 'paste bin' website (below,) it's because some these logs are probably 80+ KB... I could post them here if people really want but unsure you want messages that large on the mailing list...

These will expire within a month.

I wonder if my own (incomplete) X pointer theme crashed it, but X/KDE
normally has programs use backup/default theme for missing icons.
