[Swarm-Modelling] newbie question

I am looking at using SWARM for a supply-chain / transportation type simulation
modelling project, hoping to upgrade from an expensive proprietary package
(ARENA, SIMAN, similar to GPSS).   Is this a worthwhile possibility?  (I am
ready to do some coding if necessary)

I have been aware of SWARM for quite a few years now, and I'm just wondering
what is its status now? It appears to me that development in the project has
slowed down if not stalled over the past 3 years. Is this true? if so, why?
