I should have been more specific, but I will let it rest for the moment, at least until I read more. I was engaged in a discussion about socio-cultural complexity on an anthropology list. It appears to me that there may be a mismatch between how some anthropologists and archaeologists use the term and how it is used among ABM modelers, though it is apparent on this list that some of you are engaged in anthropological oriented modeling. My impression may just be a reflection of my ignorance though.
I am in the beginning stages of feeling out possible topics for my Computer Science Masters thesis or project. I have a undergraduate background in anthropology, and I would like to find a thesis topic acceptable to my department, but also of interest to anthropologists. ABM seems a good place to start, indeed a natural place between the two fields.
